Current position: Program Advisor for the Hartford/Storrs UConn ConnCAP Program


Aaron Hooker graduated from the University of Maryland with his Master of Education in Student Affairs, Higher Education, and International Education Policy in May 2023. Before that, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in May 2021.

While at the University of Maryland, Aaron served as the graduate assistant for the Student Success Initiative. An organization geared towards working with Black student leaders who focused on providing leadership, academic, social, and mental health support/resources for the campus community.

Aaron is the Hartford/Storrs program coordinator for UConn’s Connecticut Collegiate Awareness and Preparation program. He serves a total of 100 students between 3 high schools. Within his role, he is responsible for creating a year-round curriculum that focuses on academic preparation/success, tutoring, experiential learning opportunities, and much more.
