The Africana Studies Institute held its annual Drs. Barbara and Carlton Molette Scholarship and Award dinner on April 9, 2026. This year’s speakers were UConn alum Mia Miller and Wiley Dawson, Assistant Director of the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills. This year, we awarded four students. The Community Engagement Award was presented to Anastasia Charles. The Excellence in the Africana Studies Minor Award was presented to Karizma McCardell. A newly established award, the Theresa Gyamfuah Award, was presented to John Asobayire. Myeisa Barnill received the Drs. Barbara and Carlton Molette Award. Congratulations to all the 2026 winners!
