Current position: Program Advisor for the Hartford/Storrs UConn ConnCAP Program
Aaron Hooker currently attends Duke Divinity School where he is pursuing his Master’s of Divinity. With his divinity degree, he plans to use his experience in higher education and political science to do work for his local congregation. Aaron believes that the church should not be separate from that of the secular environment. The church should have an active voice and presence in relation to assisting the community it resides in.
Prior to attending Duke University, he graduated from the University of Maryland with his Master of Education in Student Affairs, Higher Education, and International Education Policy in May 2023. Before that, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in May 2021.
Aaron is the Hartford/Storrs program coordinator for UConn’s Connecticut Collegiate Awareness and Preparation program. He serves a total of 100 students between 3 high schools. Within his role, he is responsible for creating a year-round curriculum that focuses on academic preparation/success, tutoring, experiential learning opportunities, and much more.
