Four of Dr. Simien’s students, Anastasia Charles, Lizamishel Boateng, Demarques Stevens, and Tyler Fisher attended the 2025 National Conference of Black Political Scientists in New Orleans, Louisiana. They attended academic panels, met prominent figures in the field of Political Science, and talked to professionals and professors about research, law school, and careers in academia. Africana Studies strives to provide students with life-transformative educational experiences beyond the classroom via individualized research projects, career-changing internships, study abroad programs, and conference participation.
